Moving houses can be one of the most stressful things you do in life – but with the right preparation and planning, you can guarantee yourself a smooth move
Prepare your move as soon as you get serious about selling/buying. Plan to gift/donate any items that doesn’t #SparkJoy . Do you have a family member who may enjoy that extra slow cooker or a little cousin who may want the many purses you no longer use? A few organizations I recommend donating to are:
4) The Princess Project
Don’t want to donate? Have a yard sale! Check your local municipality to see if your place of residence will require a yard sale permit.
Once you’ve planned out what you will purge and what you will keep, make a list of which room you will tackle first. Use an organizational system such as color coded key + colored tape to differentiate the box to the room. Write the destination room name on the side of the box, not on top. Put away any items you don’t use day-to-day such as photo albums/seasonal clothing/large pots + pans. Whether you have a long or short escrow period, start tidying up your place and slowly put things away everyday. Some storage boxes you can buy
1) Black Weathertight Totes Cases at the container Store $71.94/ea. – $107.94/ea
2) KLÄMTARE storage bin at IKEA – $12.99
3) Iris 2pk 27gal Utility Tough Tote at Target – $62.99

PRO TIP: Have a “day of moving checklist” and a “first night in new home” checklist. You will want to make any final checks before you hand over your old keys and first nights in box is for your toilet paper and THEE necessities! I hope these tips will be helpful to you when you are ready to make your move!
