Hello there Vinyl

Vinyl Flooring

Is the Vinyl Flooring making a come back in 2018? The better than ever vinyl is starting to make appearances at New Home Builds. Its come a long way since it was a punch point in the home improvement world 30 years ago. Now its all the rave and vinyl quite frankly has aged very well with its resilience and vast faces.

Vinyl was introduced back in the 1950’s and today, its more stylish than ever. With vinyl flooring coming in sheets, tiles, and planks to mimic any natural wood or stone. It can be customized to most variety of textures, colors, and patterns which makes the possibilities endless. Homeowners and any remodeler can get their most bang for their buck with cost effective vinyl starting anywhere from $0.50 to $5.00 per square foot. Since vinyl is durable and low maintenance, it doesn’t take too much effort to clean. We don’t need to panic if someone spills red wine or if our children run across the room with muddy boots. Consider vinyl floors for wet rooms such as the kitchen, laundry room, mud room, and bathrooms.

In 2016, The National Association of Realtors reported 61 percent of homeowners either already have owned a pet or planned on getting one in the future. 10 percent of homeowners polled by The National Association of Realtors said they installed laminate flooring to accommodate their pets. PAW-FECT!

With all the Vinyl cheer, I do also wonder about Vinyls cousin, Linoleum. Since this is a natural product and can be used to build green homes, will it triumph Vinyl as Green Homes make its way in to our neighborhoods?
